Even if you’re not a baseball fan, or even a sports fan, you probably are aware of the trial of former Yankee pitcher, Roger Clemons, who is being charged with lying to Congress. That in itself is enough to almost make it laughable. First of all, when did it become a law to lie to a bunch of liars? Clemons allegedly took performance enhancing drugs and denied it at a Congressional hearing. In my opinion, Congress has no business telling any U.S. citizen what he or she can ingest. Certainly, there are illegal drugs and people are getting busted and sent to prison all the time, but I haven’t heard of any bodybuilders or football players going to prison for taking steroids, and everyone knows many of these athletes use them. Also, these clowns who are elected by the people and supposedly work for us, shouldn’t be persecuting anyone for such a ridiculous reason. I do believe Congress can find some more urgent problems to deal with right now. The U.S. government has gotten so over-blown with all the stupid laws written to control every aspect of our lives, and yet the lawmakers exclude themselves from most of them. If they really are concerned about our health, for example, why do they continue to subsidize a product which has been proven to cause illness and death; tobacco products. They’re a bunch of hypocrites who are in politics for the power and wealth which most seem to accumulate if they keep getting reelected.
In closing, I say to Congress, leave Roger Clemons alone and do something constructive for the country which you’ve taken an oath to uphold.
From Ian Millheiser:
GOP presidential candidate Rick Santorum’s statement yesterday claiming that there should not be absolute separation of church and state does not simply place him at odds with the First Amendment, or with presidents ranging from John F. Kennedy to Ronald Reagan, it also places him wildly out of step with the American people.

Another one of God’s chosen candidates is leaving his quest for the presidency; gee, I guess god is a poor judge of who might qualify for the job. Now, if only Santorum would do the same, so we don’t have to listen to any more bullshit about Christian, family values. I’ve said it from the beginning, that the powers that be have decided that Romney is their nominee, and so far, it’s still going in that direction. If voters want to elect a man who believes his magic underwear will protect him, among other kookie isms, then they get what they deserve. At any rate, in my estimation, when Americans continue to elect Republicans or Democrats without thought to individuality, we are doomed to politics as usual and nothing will truly change…at least not for the better.
The NDAA Repeals More Rights
by Ron Paul
Little by little, in the name of fighting terrorism, our Bill of Rights is being repealed. The 4th amendment has been rendered toothless by the PATRIOT Act. No more can we truly feel secure in our persons, houses, papers, and effects when now there is an…

Newt Gingrich, liar, adulterer, and self-proclaimed historian who doesn’t seem to know that the secular country of which he speaks has been around since its founding in 1776. I guess Newty thinks America should strive to be a theocracy. Like Iran, Afghanistan and Saudi Arabia. (via kathiek)
